Linton Area Learning Alliance (LALA) starts a new 10-week course called London Through Literature 2, on Tuesday mornings from 24th September. We meet in Linton Village Hall, Coles Lane from 10.00 to 11.45.

The tutor, Ros Connelly, says: ‘Following on from London through Literature 1, although it can be taken as a stand-alone course, London through Literature 2 will explore some exciting ways that London has been portrayed through literature.

Topics will include catastrophic events, such as plague, fire, uprisings and riots, and the two world wars; immigration and minority ethnic communities, including Jews in 19th and 20th century London, the Windrush generation and those from the Indian subcontinent and China; and how London has been imagined as a futuristic city (both utopian and dystopian)’.

Please contact me for more information or to register interest. Cost for the 10 weeks remains at £50 and includes a coffee break.
